The Middle East is a region where cars and truck is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It’s established the Middle East’s very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It’s showing profitable too, already their client-list includes McDonald’s.
